Need help troubleshooting!

I was wondering if anyone might be able to help me out.
I just bought an E60 less than a week and a half ago and already got my first CEL LOL!!!! But hey, I'm a euro enthusiast, I know all about the cars and how they work. and I know that you gotta pay to play for comfort.

Anyhow.

1st question

I was driving to my school when some ASSHAT driver ran a stop sign. I SLAMMED on the brakes pretty hard. So hard that the "engine malfunction reduced power yada yada light came on. I felt no reduced power though. I did turn it off and on and the light was gone. It hasn't come back since. Drives fine, no loss of drivability.

What do you think may have caused it?

2nd question

My car is a LCI 2009 535 xdrive model with 74K on the clock. I know around this Mileage quite a few things must be done maintenance wise. I'm gonna look up my VIN and check with BMW to see what service records I may be able to find. But aside from the usual Valve cover, Turbos, Spark plugs, Intake Manifold walnut blast, Fuel pump, water pump,

What should be done around this mileage? Suspension etc??

1st - Get a BMW code reader and pull the codes. If the CEL came on there should be something stored. A $20 bluetooth OBDII reader off Amazon and the iCarly app work fine.

2nd - Check the front control arm bushings, maybe replace the serpentine belt, think about changing the transmission fluid/filter. If you can pull the service records see if the HPFP and water pump have been replaced. If not, replace them. Keep an eye on the injectors, and update to index 12 when you need to replace them.
