I could really use the boards help. My car with 10K miles has been at the dealer for more than a week now for it's first oil change and a number of other problems including tire replacement. The original tires starting howling a while back but I didn't want to bring the car in as service was due in about 1500 miles (it's been in the shop 5 or 6 times since I took delivery a year ago).

BMWNA is willing to replace the tires but is only giving me 50% credit for new ones and insiting on another set of Dunlops. I'm arguing for free tires and Bridgestones. BMWNA says they don't replace the tires for free and that everyone pays 50%. From other posts, I believe this is BS. Can you please tell me if you've gotten free tires and which ones.

thanks!

I think that the more recent replacements, including mine, were with Dunlops.

It seems as if BMW always starts with 50% credit but if pushed, they'll usually bump it up to 100%. Each case is handled independently though so there's no guarantee that they'll do anything more than the 50% they're offering you now...

My dutch dealer changed my dunlops for bridgestones after 1800 or 1900 kms...

10k miles is 16000 kms.. I think my dealer would have given me 30%. But I've seen members on this board that got a full replacement. I just wonder hown many miles they had on their tires?

BMW offered 50% to replace mine with 11,000 miles. The dealer was surprised they went that high with the miles. I contacted BMWNA twice and they wouldn't budge off the 50%. They replaced with Dunlops and it's a different car now. I put an additional 4,000 miles on the car before the tires were replaced. I didn't want to pay anything, but I did get almot 16,000 miles out of the other tires.
