Oh my God! All is lost! Sell me your car for fifty bucks and move to Montana, drive a pick-up truck!!!
just trying to cheer you up dude I know how it feels when you think something's wrong with the car - actually, that's like the one thing I hate about my E60 - I care about it too damn much!
I don't know much about engine dampers on the E60, but I know that vibration will be felt inside the car significantly when replacement is needed. Don't panic, take a deep breath, smoke a ***** and watch some South Park. Check the car in 5 hours, if the problem still persists see your doctor for a prescription for some anti-depressants... hehe hope you don't get mad at me for thread-crapping - I'm just poking a little fun at ya to make you smile.

as long as the pulley doesnt wobble, i think you're ok.
if the dampener is like a traditional dampener, then the outer ring is separated by rubber, which can shift slightly??

you know what bro, i think the mechanic is playing me, i looked at the crank/ damper and it looks straight.. it does have some brown spots(rust?) which probably gives an illusion that there is wobble.
Fucking mechanics, none of them is honest. I am going to the dealership tomorrow and have them look at it.
on the good note, i got SOME MASSIVE M5 Brakes~!!!!
