Im trying to get INPA up and loading on my computer. Im running windows 7 32bit on my mac using bootcamp. I bought this software from a guy on ebay with the cable and I cant seem to get past the 36th step. Everytime I try to open INPA I got the error api32.dll missing so I found the file and copied and paste it into the folder. Now when I open the program it actually opens but I got the error,
Ediabas-Error
ApiInit: Error #135
API-0015: Host Communication Error
Apir Initialization Error
No Api calls possible.

Just to say I'm not a PC guy at all this is actually my first time every using windows 7 or having anything close to a PC in my home. So anyone out there if you got a few seconds help a fello BMW out! Thanks!

There are a bunch of experts at this forum:

Bimmerforums Software

Windows 7 32-bit should work, there are people who have it running.

When I click on INPA "Shortcut" in the BMW Tools folder on desktop, it states:

C: \INPA\BIN\INPALOAD.EXE
The specified path does not exist.
Check the path, and then try again.

I went to Environmental Variable and added ;\ediabas\bin\ under system variable.

This is what it looks like:
%SystemRoot%\system32;%SystemRoot%;%SystemRoot%\Sy stem32\Wbem;%SYSTEMROOT%\System32\WindowsPowerShel l\v1.0\;C:\Program Files\Intel\WiFi\bin\;C:\Program Files\Common Files\Intel\WirelessCommon;C:\ediabas\bin\

I went to C: Drive and when I click the INPA APPLICATION, I get the following:
"The program can't start because api32.dll is missing from your computer. Try reintalling the program to fix this problem."

Can anyone please show me how to install INPA (application) in my BMW tools folder on my desktop and do whatever necessary to get it functional?

Thank you for taking the time to help!

FYI: I am using Windows 7 Home Premium with 64-bits operating system. In the meanwhile, I will continue to google for the info from various coding forums.

From my research, it appears Windows 7, Home Premium will not work for such project. Minimum requirement is Windows 7 Professional with 32-bit (64-bit might work faster).

Just curious, Anyone here have tried and have success installing the BMW Diagnostic Package 4 with Windows 7, Home Premium (64-bit)?
