Hey guys,
Got my new toy the other week, a 07 530i 200kW. I'm going through and replacing the different stock globes to a whiter light but I've hit a bit of a problem. In the car manual it says that the daytime running lights uses a H8 globe. So I went out and purchased a pair (costed me $100), the Philips Blue Vision H8 (which are the whitest ones which are legal in Australia). Took out the bulb housing and discovered that the H8 globes don't fit!
Here is the globe which I found inside:

The connection that it came with to connect the globe to the power source:

Can somebody help me identify what I would need to get to replace these? The manual says H8 but these aren't H8 stock globes! Or what adapter can be used to make the H8 ones connect?
Thanks

If this is your first BMW ... you learned a valuable (but expensive ) lesson. "Don't trust any guides that tell you the type of bulbs in your car!" ... remove and inspect to confirm type FIRST.
Mid-production changes are often made. Besides, the inboard lamps (if that is what your are calling your DRLs) for both halogen and xenon are H-7's according to

Where did you say the advice that they were H-8's came from - your owner's manual ?!?!

The bulb in the daytime running lights (that powers the angel lights shown below) were the crappy little halogen one, how is a H7 meant to plug in?

H7's have these connections:

Doesn't fit these:

Or is there some adapter that I can buy to make them fit?
