Hey all,

I've had the passenger restraint systems light on for a while now. I've had it cleared twice by BMS (Chris) only to have it pop back up on the iDrive menu. I have had the whole passenger seat replaced while the car was still under warranty, but now that I am out of warranty, the occupancy seat sensor that's causing the problem will run me ~$1500.00 to replace. I have also called BMW NA and couple BMW dealerships to see if my VIN qualifies for the recall, but unfortunately I do not fall under the recall list.

I'm not looking to change the occupancy sensor just yet, but I am looking for a code reader that can read and clear OBD2 codes. I did come across this [topic="0"]Equus OBD2 Reader[/topic] on Amazon.com and was wondering what you guys think about this product. Or if anybody has any other solutions for this problem?

Any questions, comments, complaints welcome!

Thanks in advance, and thanks for reading!

Nick

An OBD2 code reader/eraser will not clear airbag/restraint system codes. You need an expensive, sophisticated, professional unit for that... I think.
