i would get the 07 as well. The newer the better and longer the warranty period.

Hi everyone
Thanks for welcoming me to the forum on the other thread.
Looks like this is the definitive forum for E60's - different from bimmerfest
I actually had a member on the other forum ask me why I'm buying pre-owned and not new...

Anyway, I have a dilemma

I have narrowed the car I will buy down to 2 choices:

Choice 1: 2006 530xi Tit Silver with Black Interior with normal seats and steering wheel.
The pro for Choice 1 is that I am obsessive compulsive and silver is easy to keep clean.
The con for Choice 1 is that the car is pretty basic - seating and steering wise and it's a 2006.

Choice 2: 2007 530xi Monaco Blue with Tan Interior with sports seats and sport steering wheel.
The pro for Choice 2 is that it's got all the goodies I want and it's a 2007.
The con is that I am afraid Monaco blue will take a lot to maintain....

What were the subtle changes between 2006 and 2007?
Which car would you get?

Thanks for your input!

i guess you already answer your own question~~

The reason why I'm still hesitating is because my wife (for whom this will be her daily driver) NEVER cleans the car! it will fall on me!
And I remember having dark cars and what an incredible pain they were to keep clean.... She has a Tit Silver now and I just need to spray and wipe ONCE and it looks shiny!

My other question is what subtle changes - feature wise - do the 2007 have over the 2006?

OK I think I know.
I got the VMI and maintenance history for both cars.

The 2006 had one sw update, and 3 electrical gremlins logged and presumably solved (incl a brakelight switch, some sensor) and recently brake pads and rotors changed.

The 2007 had only routine oil changes and maintenance done. Not a single warranty item logged.

BTW Before I buy should I ask the dealer to change the brake pads and rotors?
It is CPO so presumably they should change it if needed?
it is still officially under the 4 yr 50K mile warranty (original warranty) - should they just replace the brake pads and rotors?

So I think 2007 530xi here we come!
