Just finished driving 350 miles through 100+ temp areas through So. California and Arizona. Several times on the trip I got a warning, "SOS Malfunction." At this time, I lost all audio (CD, Radio, etc). A few minutes later, everything would go back to normal. I searched the forum and saw that a lot of other people have had this same issue. However, upon arriving at my destination, my car will not completely shut off. The engine shuts off, but all of the electronics remain on. I can also lock the car with no problem.
Has anyone seen this before? Any suggestions to get my car electronics to shut off? Otherwise, I'm looking at a dead battery in the morning.
Thanks!

check beneath your trunk floor where all the electronics are for debris/water, etc. It may be that the cooling function is degraded. It was pretty warm here today, and when I pulled in and shut down, I opened the trunk and could hear some whirring (like a cooling fan) that stayed on for awhile.

I left it for about 20 minutes. Went back out to check on it and all the electronics were still on. I went back an hour later and it looks like everything has turned off. I didn't mess with it again, and will let it sit in the driveway tonight and will check on it in the morning.
Thanks for the suggestions.
Thanks for the suggestions.
car goes to sleep at certain times after you stop and get out and leave the car sat up.
If you have a bluetooth phone kit / snap in adapter, the car will go to sleep after 1 hour. Just check the small orange light by the gear shift (orange LED by the P sign on Auto gearbox and gear shift knob on manuals). After one hour this one will go out and you know the car will have gone to sleep. After say 2 hours if it is still on, then you know the car has not gone to sleep and it is not shutting down properly.
