need help with brakepad

My Ride: 2004 BMW 530I, K&N CAI, M-tech front bumper, Sprint-booster, Silver Hella taillights (vehicle is under construction)
hellow everyone
i have a story to tell.. so, i bought my car used about 8 months ago... lately, i noticed that a strange sound coming from my rear brake rotors.. it sounds worst than sequaking pad. so, I checked visually all of my brakepads and based on what i have seen.. I can say compared to the front pads, my rear pads is completely gone. since it is a used car.. im questioning wether my car have the pad sensors or not? is that posible? if the previous owner changed the pad without installing the sensor?
