My Ride: 2004 BMW E60 525i

Hi guys and girls this is only my second post in this forum so if I’m doing anything wrong please let me know. I have a 2004 BMW E60 525i that I purchased about a month ago now and it has been a rough month my carpet was drenched which was from the seals being clogged in the engine compartment which was thankfully sorted with the help of everyone on here. After testing I found that my active steering module had fried itself in a massive pond of water under my seats and have since replaced the unit with one found from a wrecker same module number on old and new unit now I know I have to program the module and have downloaded the software to do so from bimmer geeks and have ordered a cable for my laptop. Upon doing research I have found very little on how to tell my car that it has a new module please help I would really appreciate anything thanks...
