Hey guys,
Need your opinions or if you ever heard of this before.
I have a 2004 545i SMG E60
Last night I was driving on the highway on Manual and when i hit traffic switch over to Automatic.
Without any pop or explosion, don't know what happened. I was stuck in the middle of the Highway or Freeway! Luckily I got some help from people to push me to the side of the road
Got it towed to my mechanic, I assumed it could be the transmission or the clutch.
But when we scanned it there was problems with the hydraulic pump. Its sending any fluids I believe to the transmission.
Correct me if I'm wrong but I'm not really mechanically inclined. There were no leaks found when we pulled out the covers.
All the fluids were full.
Anyone know what could be the problem?? Maybe a sensor that slipped off. He wants to replace the whole hydraulic unit which will run me less than 4g's
Any help is appreciated, but doing a little research here and I just want to be ready for the bad news in terms of cost.
THANKS
