My Ride: 08 535I

Hello everyone,
My very first post here so don’t hold back.
I have an opportunity to grab a 2008 535i with 162k miles, which is kind of high for its year. The down side is that it’s from an auction so we won’t be able to get a history report for this car but will be able to inspect the car and the engine will be on.
What are some things I should be looking for? I know that there was a major recall on the twin turbo’s fuel pump, but is there any way of knowing that the parts were actually replaced? What other things should I keep an eye out for? Any and all feedback is appreciated.
Thanks to everyone in advance.

Look for a sticker under the hood near the passenger side window - this where they place the notice of the fix for for fuel injector recalls or something like that.

Bring the fob into a dealer, they will tell you everything about the car. As far as what your getting into, there are other fourms that specialize in the 335, seems that were all the information is on these engines. I bought an 08 for the engine and wanted to know if I could qualify for the replacement, when the dealer ran my vin, he said there were no recalls, so it was up to me to replace it all. Unless you plan on making more power than stock, or have 3k aside for maintenance, I'd stay away from it.,

Ah,right, well these cars are costly for maintaince. Call a dealer with the vin, they'll tell you if anything has been done thru them .With those miles, it still may have 60k on the recalls,
