Alright guys, I been doing some research on the internet regarding to how to get my ipod hookup to my 2004 530i. I know there's plenty of options out there,
I would like to hear from you guys of which set up did you go with, how much you spend and what you like and don't like about it.

If you have mp3 capability, and the 6 cdc then I would try out a Dension. You can get full ipod control thru idrive. I'm doing this in a few months. Just make sure your car has kinda new software. Also they're all over eBay for about $450 new.

Your BMW dealer can add an AUX port or iPod connection, both require reprogramming. The AUX gives you the flexibility to play whatever MP3 player you want... iPod, droid, anything. The iPod connection allows you to control songs from the steering wheel, see the current artist on the iDrive screen, etc. AUX is approx. $250 from the dealer, iPod is $840.

I have the AUX but no CD changer. If I have this right, the Dension is recognized by the car as the CDC. How do I install the Dension if I have no CDC? Reprogram after installation?

from what is sounds, this is not going to be a cheap task. If you don't have the CDC, you will need programing because if you go BMW ipod interface or Dension, it will need to be recognized. The cheapest route would be one of those FM transmitters if you are price conscious.
