Still getting to know the new car. Was using the navigation this weekend in the Berkshires where mapping can be a bit spotty. I found that if I start navigation from someplace that is outside the coverage area, once I re-enter a coverage area the system will start to provide directions on the Arrow Display but I won't get any voice directions. If I try and ask for a voice command I get a message like "Navigation directions are not available." I need to stop and then re-start navigation (while in the coverage area) to get voice directions.

Bottom line: if I start navigation from outside the coverage area, voice commands will remain unavailable for the remainder of that navigation session.

Has anyone else noticed this? It's not a huge deal now that I know how to fix it but strange nonetheless.

Thanks.

I'm still getting use to my new car too. I have not noticed what you said, but I was using the navigation yesterday and realized I was not getting the voice guidance, I then noticed that the mute was on (left side of screen) which I did not intentionally activate. Just a reminder to check that in the future

Yes, thanks for that. I'd remembered to unmute it and she did speak, but didn't say much beyond navigation not being available. Try it if you ever go outside the zone, be curious to hear if you have a similar experience.

Thanks.

So there must be a bug in the way the system operates. Interesting.
