Hi there, I?m new to this forum and would like to thank you all for the useful shared information.
I've got a question for you. I've got a 525d Touring 2005, which has navigation business. I would like to upgrade this to a professional system, so that I can listen to CD's at the same time when using the Navigation system.
Can I just change these units out without any problem (plug&play) or does it involve re-wiring?
Hope someone can help me out with this..
Thanks!

Hi, sadly to say its not plug and play, will need wiring and coding to car to work correctly. I have found this out to my expense, talking to someone else from other forum approx cost £1000 inc parts (dealer prices, if you can find a dealer willing to do it)

It is actually plug and play and quite easy to upgrade from business nav to pro nav, you will only need to change the M-ASK unit to the CCC unit and the 6.5 inch
monitor to the 8.8 monitor, also the controller high and the CCC fan. The car will need coding as well.

Thanks for the information.. It seams to me it will become an expensieve rebuild..
I'll have a look on the net and see what I can find secondhand..
What if I install a CD charger, will I be able to use the GPS and listen to the CD's at the same time?

Buen,
if you want to go completely nuts and like do-it-yourself mods, check out this thread. https://5series.net/forums/topic/994...tallation-log/
I think more and more pre-LCI E60 owners are becoming interested in a complete system upgrade to the HDD CIC system with High defination screen etc. This also requires proper coding etc however the resources and knowledge are out there. It really comes down to time and money. Something like this would set you back somewhere in the region of $3,000 all said and done....Just another option for you to review.
