My Ride: 535d Eccelsa, 05 2005 (built 12-04), sapphireblack, beige dakota leather, electric seats, poplar wood trim, sport suspension, 124 style 18" alloys, differentiated f/r runflat tyres, steptronic, adaptive light control, bi-xenon, BMW PRO nav, cd, cd changer, electric-foldable and automatic antidazzle rear mirrors, automatic antidazzle internal rear mirror, adjustable central armrest, BT, Hifi Professional LOGIC7 , extended functions aircon, full lighting package, green comfort fascia on windshield, PDC park distance control, voice control, CPT9000 car phone, BMW Assist, BMW On-line, BMW Tracking, alarm system, programmable remote controls.

Yesterday I asked to BMW if they were willing to pay for the upgrade of the navigation system maps (my maps are release 2005-1 and the latest available are 2006-1). The answer was: no way, it's at your cost.

So, this morning I went to the dealer and I bought the latest Navteq DVD: total cost 348,00 euros, tax included

Well boys, now I have a redundant set of 2005-1 Navteq maps (full Europe): anybody interested? I don't want any money, just cover the freight cost.

Cheers

You could offer to burn the 2006-1 disc for a small fee+postage. That would help you get your investment back

I cannot do that: that's illegal!

Well, at least not for free.

just a little hint here........... I've bought 2006 maps for my car and guess what??? It does not work beacuse I need like CIP 16. And my car is still running 12.3 All confirmed by BMW dealers..... too bad I bought it on Ebay so I did not know that in advance.
So in order to use the latest maps you need maximum 6 months old software. so ridiculous

Navtec DVD are protected ! You can copy it ... but it doesn't work !

It's no use to buy the new DVD each year. There are not so much changes that you may think ! Every 2 or 3 years is good !
