Navigation missing words?

Hi:
I have a 2004 545i (production 7/04) with navigation. When I set the system to use voice directions, it seems to leave words out, like "make the next on the left." We've had four other BMWs with navigation systems, and they've always said things like "make the next TURN on the left." (...as does our Volvo).
Is this normal for a 545i? Is this something fixed by software?

It is a problem, and the software update is the fix.
A fix for a known problem should be free! I guess it is, at least in Germany.
Software updates are just not free, when you simply want to have the newest software, without having problems...
