I haven't been able to locate these. Every time I specify BMW 5 Series, I am offered CDs.

Actually, now that you mention that, I do recall that it's DVDs for the US and CDs for the UK. I just checked the Navteq site, and that's still the same. The site says something about SVDO CDs for the UK. Could that mean that you'd put the CD in the DVD drive and it would work for NAV? I see the price was about the same, i.e. 114 Pounds.

In my opinion it's a total ripoff. Over ?2000 for the nav system, and then a couple of hundred quid every six months if you want the latest version of the DVD?
Thank goodness for pirate bay!

I did not see it on pirate bay! not on Limewire and no bit turnet!
it is very hard to find! ?
If you live in the suburbs where a lot of new roads are showing up every day, then it is nice to get updates. I live in a new community and most of the community streets are not on the Nav DVD.
I also drive a lot on the Rt. 28 corridor/waspool road in northern VA and my 04 nav disc does not show the new imporvements.
I guess I need to upgrade soon!
The folks on ebay say they have new DVDs for sale for much less (not pirated). where do they get them from? I am sure they are also making a profit!

I did not follow the link, but even if it is no longer valid, it will give you some ideas about using BitTorrent.

In the UK our beloved Prime Minister has a policy of not sanctioning any new road building with the sole intention of ensuring that factory fitted satellite Navigation systems remain up-to-date. Who says lobbying doesn't work?

Thanks for all the input. I got my car in November 2005 so I may wait for the next 2007 upgrade just to allow more updates. Some one said it...that probably about every 2 years is the way to go. Once a year may tbe too frequently to really notice anything unless you are in an area of unusual growth and construction.

I live in Washington DC suburbs and upgraded from 2005-2 to 2007-1 ... I haven't noticed any major differences, just a few updates on new roads. Also noticed that they changed the icons for points of interest. It is probably not worth paying for an update ...

Try keeping up with the Big Dig in Boston! More than once it has told me to go the wrong way on one-way streets not to mention directing me to streets that are no longer viable. Maybe the 2007-2 would help a bit.
