The manual is confusing, as are the I-Drive menus. I want to store my current location in my address book, but I cant figure out how. Any help is appreciated.

When on current location, choose Address book, New Address, and choose "Use current location".

That works for me. You probably will come up with a street address. You can go back in and edit that to any ID you like, such as Home, GF, Saloon or what ever.

Make sure you're at the "Home Address" selection. You can't save a name to it (I don't think), it saves it as Home Address.

Just a little thing, but I always put my home address as a few of streets away from my actual address, even put in your local Tesco's address instead.

Saw on that Real Hustle programme once that they 'mock' stole this guy's car and his TomTom was in the glove box along with his house keys so they just clicked on his Home address in the TomTom and said they could easily just go round and empty his house too!

Or they could just look at the vehicle insurance card or registration that's supposed to always remain in the car, go buy a map, and voila'.

Still can't figure out, with all the software updates we've seen over the years, why BMW hasn't added a PIN code to the home address entry...

Registration SHOULD NEVER be left in the car. That is asking for trouble and could invalidate insurance coverage since the "thief" would be able to show he has the car's documents. Insurance just proves you are insured so that is not an issue insofar as my comment is concerned.

Just because he has the documents doesn't mean he's the owner. And most places I've been, if the registration/insurance isn't in the car, that's an automatic ticket. In Washington state, you MUST have them in the car.
