Playing of DVD's is currently not possible, even with the TV tuner.

Hi Guys,

I think playing of DVD's on the go as an installed part of cars leaving the manufacturer will violate motoring standards, so that option is not looked at in vehicle OEM systems. Rather you might want to consder installing a separate dvd/cd player and have it hooked to the iDrive monitor.

Regards

...violate motoring standards... ???

NO!

There is no law that says you can't display movies or TV while the car is in motion.
The manufacturers decided to do that themselves.

Iceman actualy it is NOT legal in the uk to watch a tv/dvd screen whilst a vehicle is in motion.
