I use Nav frequently to determine the quickest route to places that I routinely drive to. Occassionally on local trips I need to turn the destination off if I continue on to a different destiantion. How do you turn off a destination? Thanks

On the nav screen (not the map), you'll see your recent destinations listed and your current destination will have a little bullet to the left of it.

Simply select the bulleted destination and uncheck the box that says something like "begin instructions" and you'll be "destinationless."

Rudy is correct. You tell NAV you want to select destination again and it will stop the guidance

This is correct but personally I find this rather time consuming. First you have to go back in the NAV menu then you have to click down once and scroll 2 fields to get to your current destination. Click once to open it and uncheck the box.

Has anyone found a quicker way to do this??? I think it is very time consuming just to put the nav off..

Never tried it but maybe you could voice activate like "End Destination". I will try that tomorrow.

Some new information discussed at the E60 meeting. If you move the I-Drive knob in the direction of the menu you want and hold it for two seconds. The I-Drive will return to the last screen you were at of that menu. This will save you a couple of steps.

If that is too many steps, you can always go to the destination you inputed when you get there it will turn off. Then turn around and come back (just joking)

One other way would be to turn the car off then back on. When the car is restarted, the nav will prompt you with a yes/no question like "continue guidance to destination?"

I think bmw should make an option to just turn it off in the main menu (like in my old e46).

I also noticed that is you want Entertainment if you pull back on i-Drive twice it will take you to entertainment instead of pushing down on the button. works for all directions
