About 4 days ago my Navigation system failed. It now shows "please insert navigation DVD" even though it is in there. When you hit the eject button it does not come out either. I remember someone else had this problem a while ago. Is there a way to force it to eject, such as a computer CD drive has that little hole in the front that you stick a paperclip into? Car is going in for service on Wed.

I would take it to the dealer. Any forced ejecting can only do more damage that I would rather have the dealer take responsibility for.

Press the DVD and CD eject buttons simultaneously for about 8 seconds and your DVD should come out.

I had to wait for service, Skipper. When it happened to me, I couldn't get my audio CD out either.

Tried that. Also tried re-booting. Nothing worked. Guess I will just wait until Wed for them to fix it. Had to wait a few days for service because I will need a loaner which they always give me when I bring the e60 or the 3 series in for service.

Are you using an Original DVD disk or a back-up copy?? This is important!

Does your car have NAV Professional like the US cars? I'm trying to confirm that a backup copy of the disc will work in US cars. BMW has cautioned that backup discs could damage the DVD Professional and they warn that warranty will be void if this is done. I like to use a backup copy of the disc though in case it is stolen or damaged, I still have the original. Thanks.
