So my car got upgraded to CIP 20.xx recently to play mp3s. (SA thinks its 20.00, but I don't think he knows the exact version, maybe he sucks?)
Anyway, I've noticed that directions (street names, arrows and distances for next turn) don't pop up in the Assist Window anymore. For example, if I have Assist Window set to show Map Facing North, it now always shows Map Facing North even when I'm supposed to make a turn.
Did I get a bad CIP version or is NAV supposed to be like this now?

Navi is supposed to be like this now whith the newest update
So the Assist Window is basically useless now?!
Is there any way I can see directions again? I tried using Arrow Display in Assist Window but its not the same, doesn't show street names or distances.

So you have directions popping up on your main window? Is there a setting I need to change in order to enable this?

I love having HUD because I have it displaying the arrow/next turn/next street name/distance countdown bar on it. Then I have the map in direction of travel (or perspective) on the right small screen (even when not using NAV), and the "Route List" on the left big screen. That way I always have all the info there without having to hunt for it.
Because I've always been able to use the HUD for this purpose I have never used the small split screen as the arrow display. However, I always assumed that if it is put in arrow mode then it should display all the things that HUD does (arrow/ next turn /next street or exit name/ and distance countdown bar). Is this not the case?
