Hi,

I'm new here. I'm looking to upgrade from a 2003 525i to a 2006 525i (or 530i). I found a gorgeous one with low miles and sport package but no NAV. Then, found a couple of similar ones with NAV but, significally more money.

My question here is.... In your opinion, Is NAV on a 2006 E60 worth the extra money? How much?

Thanks

Probably not. The integrated NAV is OK but not great. It is nice to have it integrateds rather than the Garmin stuck on the windscreen or dash. Having NAV also gives you Voice Commands over many functions including NAV, Entertainment, Phone, etc. Non-NAV cars will have minimal Voice Command over the Phone only...

Its not worth extra money to me, I just wouldnt even have considered an E61 without Pro Nav, bluetooth etc. A car like this has certain things it needs to have IMO.

That tells you the car with NAV have better resell value.

The NAV system on e60 is the worst I ever experienced. I will still get it if I have a chace to pick again, you do not want to buy a portable NAV and stick it on the windshield.

All luxury car should come with NAV standard.

I agree it's much better than the Nav on e60.

But first, it's illegal to put Nav or any device on the dashboard in California. Second, have you ever think about when you're in an accident and your air bags deploy, where is the portable NAV gonna go??

If its illegal you should have seen this one winshield a few weeks ago, person had their Garmen on the Drivers Window and their blackberry in the middle of the winshield and then had a bluetooth handfree thing I was like WTF. I put mine down on the ash tray to the left of the 12 volt source and it doesnt move at all

Close call - I love the integrated Nav Pro

But have to say the ?125 TomTom I gave the wife for Christmas is a better product in many ways - and the maps much more up to date

Also checkout the BMW price for DVD updates - they are a rip off so I always buy one disk behind on e-bay. Just bought 2007-02 that way
