Default N62 V8 Intake manifold

does anyone here have a video or DIY on exactly how to pull the intake off an N62 motor? All the videos for the coolant tube underneath the intake start with the intake already off... I haven't taken a close look yet, just wanted to see if anyone here may have a diagram or something similar.

It's pretty straightforward. The hard part is disconnecting the myriad of electrical connectors that run to the vanos solenoids, alternator, temp sensors, cam position sensors, etc. Some of them are hard to get at. But once you get all that done, lift the harness up out of the way, remove the intake air tube and the y-shaped breather tube, disconnect the fuel line from the fuel rail, remove the intake manifold bolts and lift it up and out. And there are probably a couple of other things that need disconnecting and removal as well, but it is all pretty self-evident.

I wasn't able to remove my entire electrical wiring harness because some lines fed down behind the alternator and to the brake vacuum pump. So what I had to do was shift the harness side to side when removing the fuel rail (which you pull straight up after removing 4 bolts). intake manifold held down by 10 nuts. Easier to put hood in service mode, remove intake, strut bar, cabin filters, cabin filter housings

Yeah, that alternator connection was a real bitch. Now that I think about it, I had to disconnect the power steering metal tube (that runs in front of the engine and does a 90 degree turn next to the alternator) at the PS reservoir and lift it up out of the way so I could get at the alternator connector.

Here's a DIY for coolant transfer pipe repair on 645i, has lots of details in the pdf.

The thing we found crazy about pulling off the factory intake manifold was the metal spacers that had been pushed in to the bottom of the intake manifold. We had a couple just fall out! Would have been fun to fish for them if one of them fell in to the cylinder head.
