N54 recall: is there a way to determine if my 535i is included?
Good luck!
I had the software done back in October/November. I brought my car in for a service this morning and when they checked the key and stuff they advised there was a recall on the pump itself, and that they would swap it with my authorization. I never received any letter in the mail.
They gave me a 2011 535xi loaner. Its nice and cushy inside but I already miss my 2010.

I've had my 2009 535i for 4 months now and the dealer has had it 3 times to fix a "fuel starvation" issue. They've replaced the fuel pump and 3 injectors and its still "lumpy" to drive. Tomorrow I will be taking it in for a 4th time and sit with the chief mechanic and drive it with him in it
about a month ago, I went in for the annual routine service without even knowing about the recall and my service adviosr said they was a recall, a week after they changed out the pump and software, my check engine light goes on
But they took care of everything. Maybe they shud of never touched anything to begin with

Update:
Back in January, having not received an N54 recall letter in the mail, I asked my service advisor if my car was involved in the recall. He checked and said, no, there are no open campaigns involving your car. I then called BMW North America and they said the same thing. I thought ok, for whatever reason, my car doesn't need a new HPFP. Aside from an issue with fuel injectors, my car didn't seem to be having a HPFP problem.
Fast forward to February. I brought my car in for an oil change. My service advisor said my car needed to be checked for fuel injector and fuel pump issues. He didn't say it but I knew it was the N54 recall stuff. My service invoice confirmed this. It references "open campaign 0013980100 N54 HDP". I ended up getting a new HPFP as a result.
Does anyone know if there has been a change to the scope of cars involved in the N54 recall? Perhaps BMW has decided to swap out every older version of HPFP currently on the road? Its somewhat frustrating that I was told twice that my car was not involved in the recall, and a few weeks later being told that I was indeed included.

Update: the shop foreman came with me on the test drive and instantly said "yup, its not working". They couldn't figure out the issue and had to contact BMW for guidance (5 days). BMW advised to change out the injectors they did NOT replace the week prior, so now all 6 have been replaced. The wife picked the car up yesterday and said it now drives like a dream
, however, the dealer scratched all of the rear of the car somehow so back it goes to have the scratches buffed out
