interesting...I continue to read hpfp failures no matter which part number/version/MY..perhaps a reduction, but we shouldn't be satisfied with a reduction...BMW needs to permanently fix the problem...and as you eluded to, an aftermarket hpfp would make sense..but non available...CP-E was supposedly working on one...but nothing as of yet...

VW have a direct injection twin pump design and they were able to come up with an aftermarket solution. Their TT DI models also suffered from HPFP failures.

You all know they are still failing on 09-10-and now 11's...
Couple bought a 2010 x6 x35x drive yadda yadda and picked it up at the GS plant, and the fuel pump failed in the parking lot, the parking lot! This was at Bimmerfest
Other stories have some even making it 400 miles in the Smokies before failing and a SOS call later....
It's just a ticking time bomb...
N54 HPFPs= THE REAL REASON the N55 was made so fast, not emissions or Fuel Econ
