N54 low rpm squeal
 

Hello! I recently replaced my belt tensioner, deflection pulley and serpentine belt after hearing a squeal when I was idling or slowing down. I initially sprayed wd40 on the belt to see if it could be that. Squeal left for a bit but came back. Decided to replace both pulleys and the belt. Squeal is now intermittent during drive sessions rather than continuous on low rpm and slowing down. Any advice on where I should start to look next? Thanks!

I'd look at alternator as it could be giving the belt a difficult time when changing engine speed, perhaps power steering pump as well. Anything that doesn't want to be accelerated could cause a belt squeal. Also, absolutely sure it's the correct belt? I had a Caravan once and the belt squealed even after replacing. I finally went to Dodge and bought one and it was about 2 cm shorter than the "correct" aftermarket one I had.

Thanks! That’s what I was thinking about the other two pulleys in rotation. I think I will lubricate the two individually to figure out which is the culprit. The ac compressor has been bypassed with a shorter belt(435k6). It’s been that way for a while but the squeal just started.
