Also remember the N54 is very understated hp wise from the factory. They also are very easy tot tune for drastic hp gains, and a 335 vs 530 the 530 has about 125lbs more weight....minimum.
The N52 pulls well at high rpm...pretty much like every I6 I've driven from BMW and MB.
More Hp for a N52.... Scoop, Air filter/carbon filter delete, BMS power box, RPI Exhaust.
As far as I know there is no Supercharger that works well with the N52 ( vanos issues). I saw one in Germany but have not heard any more about it recently.
With the bolt on's I would expect no more then 20-25 hp tops. The 335i would still smoke you with that stock ( 300 my @$$, more like 330hp)
Loved the 535I great power (under statement of the year) , good mileage... crappy reliability

Sorry mate but you keep writing two completely contradicting statements - supposedly you do not care much about street racing and being quicker than many, on the other hand a 6.3s 0-60mph car doesn't quite work for you.
I say you really do want a quick car which would let you flex that ego on a regular basis - which is fine, many do, and get appropriate vehicles for that.
So I'm not sure what kind of inspiration you're looking for from 530i drivers. We're happy with the ride and I guess many others, like me, chose it consciously. I've "downgraded" motor-wise from a 333hp 545i and I did it deliberately, as I mostly do very short city routes and the gas costs close to gold in Germany.
Nevertheless I'm still having fun with the car and don't think it's really slow.

thanks for your posts... Looks like I got a bit off topic.. indeed.
Sorry for that.
Guess all that Stanley Cup pressure has worn me out..

I LOVE MY 530i - weak(?) engine, or not. It sure beats walking and is actually a real nice machine. Looks like I got carried away; my bad.
Let's consider this one closed. Appreciate your posts concerning my engine, thanks for helping me to find out more exactly what the specs are...
And now.. off to some modding
