Harbor Freight should have spring pullers relatively cheap... the kind that were used back in the day to adjust drum brakes would work perfectly. I have one that I've used for all sorts of other applications. It locks on around the spring so it can't pop out and injure you

Hmm, found this thread through a link in another thread - my trunk is a very aggressive, wife's mentioned it, and it has actually catapaulted a coke bottle before!

Going to try this tonight. If the left/DS spring adjustment doesn't work, will order the right/PS spring and shock combo.

Does anyone know if there is a SB for adding a damper to the spring?

Call KW suspensions in Cali they have a single coilover setup with an adjustable damper system for menacing and possessed trunk lids. The cost is $1900.00 + shipping. lol

My driver side spring is already at it's softest setting (towards the front) and the passenger side with the dampener is set for the middle. How do I know if my dampener is bad or not? I would like to see some comparison video showing before and after with the dampener changed at the stock settings.

My trunk lid used to open too fast, but then I installed the M5 trunk finisher and the added weight has slowed the opening to a reasonable rate.

Does anyone have a picture of this "finisher"? Is it just for looks or does it have a purpose? Thanks.

Look at go_forkyourself's post #14. Trunk finisher. Obviously for looks since you lose the keyhole.

I'm not sure if it's shot, but my trunk lid does flip up very quickly.
