Dude you have no idea what happened to this guy. I would hold judgment. You're young and have lots to learn my friend. We were all there, so not busting your balls, I'm just sayin'.

very well said !
everyone's situation is different....you're only 20 and probably don't have major financial responsibilities...and in case you didn't know most cars are not an investment. Anyway, good luck in your purchase.

That would be an awesome deal if you can get it for that price. It's hard to believe that 545's and 550's MSRP'ed for over $50,000-$60,000 brand new and now they are worth about 1/3 of that price a mere few years later.

I also wouldn't call him out on being upside-down on his loan. You have to remember that some people finance all or almost all of their auto purchase and with the sharp decline in economic conditions in the past 2 years, car values (as well as everything else on the market) have dropped significantly in such a short amount of time. If you were able to get a great rate on an auto loan, then putting a significant down payment might not be the best longer-term option based on the time value of money.

Also, if he purchased a similar car in today's market, he would probably have saved that $5k. Cars depreciate and when the market depreciates its value even faster = easily owe more on the loan than the car is worth. The $5k he owes might be $2k less than what he was able to make by saving from not contributing a significant down payment. Or he could have just gotten ripped off...
21.5k USD or GBP........ are we talking same currency here.... cuz 21.5k GBP is probably the correct market value!!

Well the more stress-free BMW color in terms of keeping it clean and paint condition is Titanium Silver. The only downside, IMHO, is that it is does not look as aggressive as black. But given that I don't have my own driveway or way own garage or any easy and quick way to wash the car whenever I want, I might go back to Titanium Silver for my next BMW. But I sure do dig the look of the Carbon Black.

bought a Sapphire Black E61 and absolutely love it. Yes it's a pain to keep clean, but, once it is clean there is no colour like it. It's well worth the effort.

black cars are like .44 magnums. You always want one, you hate that you own one, and you miss it like hell when you sell it..

I have an 07 550i with a sapphire black metallic exterior and a black dakota leather interior. Best color combination offered as far as I am concerned.

Love black. I have blk saphire, but would probably go basic black. In the light, looks like dust particles with the saphire imho.

Jet black is a classy lady, especially at dusk.
