My Ride: 2005 530i stock...can't decide which rims to get!
Default

Hi Guys,

I haven't posed much but I have these awful RFTs on my car. Just found out that I have a bubble on my front driver side and a nail in my back passenger side. I have to replace both. Since I have to replace them both, I might as well replace them all with non-RFTs and get rims while I at it!

I was thinking of getting 19s or 20s. I don't want to ruin the ride quality so what do you guys think? I really like some of the 20s I've seen on the forum. I like both the concave and deep dish. So many decisions!

Anybody with a good set that your trying to unload?

Any shops that anybody can recommend in the bay area that I can check out some rims? I live in south San Jose.

I have a 2005 530i sport, nav, with 43K miles.

Thanks for your help!

Common rule is if you want wheels with a lip, go with 20"s otherwise it would look too small.

20" will definately affect the ride quality. 20" is strictly for looks not performance. If ride quality is a big concern but want to go big, go with 19".

20s will definitely harshen the ride, especially with a sport pack. In addition, you'll need to run high psi to prevent rim damage, thus worsening the effect. Also, be prepared for the tire prices. Of course, they do look sweet.

Two things: 1) I just put a set of 19s up for sale in the classifieds section of this site. 2) I agree about all the comments on 20s...I was a million times more carefree and joyful while driving on my 19s but these 20s ride rough as hell!! Prolly makes it worse that I have the sport pkg AND I'm lowered 2 more inches on top of that...but with that said, my car looks like a dream in motion as it glides down the mean streets of Detroit.

If you haven't contacted any shops yet hit up either Sam at Sleek Motoring or Cal at Sonic MS. I've made several transactions with both Shops and they are both great with customer service.
