That won't help, because the driver didn't opened the door and he probably doesn't know who his passenger was.
I would get it repaired.

Then call the cab co. and ask for reimbursement. If none is forth coming, sue them in small claims court and get your friend to accompany you as a witness.

That's the least he could do for not getting out and stopping the cab.

UNFORGIVEABLE!!!

The least he could do was show some sign of evidence of a struggle. You know, cuts and bruises here and there. Maybe a fractured rib or ruptured spleen . At least he should have shown you that he TRIED to protect your car!!!

Personally, I would have bathed him in acid... show him what a "ding" feels... but that's just me.

This is the kind of advice I wanted. Now I won't feel guilty when I select some slightly lesser form of retribution. You've kind of set the high end for me.

Always glad to help out a fellow owner.

If you need more ideas, watch Denzel Washington's movie, Man on Fire. I learnt some pretty unique ways to punish people in that movie. Watch it and you'll see exactly what I mean.

Oh sweet retribution.

tab545: There is only one way to deal with your "friend" about this situation and that is public beating and he stills has to pay for the repair.

A bat to the right temple - with a hard enough wack that it will leave a small depression in the skull. That should do it. Or, you could consider a lesser punishment such as forcing him wear a discolored white turbin while he drives his car and make him include message beads, crown air freshener and other assorted cab ornaments for at least a month.

You could also, tie him to a chair and force him to watch every second of every minute of the Repulblican National Convention without bathroom or refreshment breaks.

Personally, all of the above sounds about right. The 545 is that good. Its like spousal abuse and thats a felony! In Iran they would cut off his head so he's getting off easy here

Try using Gel-gloss on the area. My car received a "brush" from a car door but it was at the dealer's. I used this stuff to remove the scratches. Fortunately there was no dent.

Take it to a really good body shop in your area, with any luck they can paintless repair the dent and buff out the white mark on the paint. I wouldn't be mad at your friend, it's the driver's fault for stopping so close to your car.
