Yep. It's called AWD my friend. No need to BS my man. I tell it how it is. I have to admit though...I lived in Tahoe and Colorado for many years, so I know how to drive in the snow pretty well.
Funny though...another member who lives in my town with an 08 550 Sport said he was sliding all over the place. He has since purchased new snowies with new winter wheels. Anyway, I guess getting this xi wasn't such a bad choice afterall.

well,my traction control kicks in year around including summertime forget the snow and sleet like today!...xi isn't a bad choice at all-i use to have AWD A6 and enjoyed it,but in this great town of ours (NYC) there is not enough snow/ice to benefit from AWD setup, not in my opinion anyway...i must add though that i have learned to drive cars growing up in northern Russia, having to deal with snow for 4-5 months straight...however, i would not be able to "accelerate hard" without traction control lighting up,not in weather like today

I am actually looking forward to driving my xi in the snow. We haven't had a real big snowfall as of yet, at least not one I was driving in. I find myself being bummed when I check the weather and don't see any snow in the forecast.
It's easy to forget during those beautiful summer days how crappy things can turn in the winter. At the moment, I am glad I have an xi....come Spring, I'll be jones'ing for a 550.
By the way C, I hope you didn't have those Italian shoes on today!

I read you were moving to Shanghi. Is it for good? Take care and good luck and make sure you set up a few e60 meets out there

My wife called me today from her office and asked me to swap the Bimmer for the Truck. She didn't feel like driving it home in this weather. Before I left her office parking lot, I decided to snap a few pix. Even with my summer wheels and tires, the car still handled exceptionally! I braked hard straight and through turns, accelerated hard and the car just kept going. Traction control only came on one time, but it still handled great.
Anyway, I took a few pix. I like the second one.

I should have taken pics of mine. It had 3 inches of ice on it, couldn't open the doors to none of my cars. Had to cliam in the tail gate of my Denali and melt the ice from the inside out.
