My e60 530d won't start when cold

This morning i started my 530d it started fine then after it warmed up a bit i took the key out to lock my house door when i came back it would not start.

IT SAYS THE BATTERY HAS BEEN DISCONECTED SO PLEASE CHANGE THE TIME.

ANY IDEAS

check your battery make sure there is no corrosion on the terminals.

But what i don't understand is that why would the car start first then when switched off and started again with in 2 mins would it not start up.

That happened to me years ago,the battery suddenly failed in identical circumstances.After I had fitted a new one,I cut the top off the failed battery for investigation (it was less than 3 years old) and found that one of the lead connecting links between cells had gone open-circuit.The break was not visible,but a test meter identified the fault.

I went home yesterday after work and the car started first time god knows what happened there.

I had the battery checked yesterday and the battery was faulty so I had it replaced and the car started fine this morning.

At least its sorted buddy, these BMW's are all the same, no warning !!
