I assume you got the torch as an accessorie / option, which meant you paid extra for it? Complain and get it back from your dealer.
I know E60s (most BMWs I think) bought in 2004 did not come with a torch as standard in the UK. One of BMW cost cutting moves I expect unless they've changed it again. Luckily mine was built in 2003 which came with the torch as standard.
