When I am listening to a CD I click the random feature and it acts like it is juggling my tracks for a second but the actual order of the songs is the same when I use the skip track button to go from song to song. Am I missing something? This is on CDs I have burned (audio CDs not MP3s so I don't think the CD player should know the diference). I also tried regular CDs and I THINK it 's the same problem.

Has anyone noticed this?

Also, why doesn't my idrive display the track names? I have nav with premium sound system, is that why?

It is meant to do this - ceartanly if you use "the controler." Hav you tried using the dash buttons?

The main reason track names are not displayed is that the standard CD format does not include this information. Consequently, only the relative CD number and track number are displayed. The MP3 format however does include, among other things, artists and song titles in its format. Search this forum and find the discussions on what combination of hardware (radio/nav) and software (CIP version) can play (and display) MP3 files.

Yes! As soon as I use a button to skip a track, it exits random mode. Very annoying.

I guess that's it-- it will play randomly until you skip to the next track manually. Is this some German torture technique?

Restarting the car (with the same CD in the player) also sends the player back to regular mode, even when you selected random when you first insert the CD (prior to turning the engine off). An irritating default.
