I got up this morning and tried to start the car.(My 525i, Pre-Sept changes) Eveything works, windows, electrical, a/c, idrive.. however the engine won't turn over. I called BMW Assist, and they transfered me to a local dealership to help guide me through it.. and the service dept was closed today. After hanging up with me, I can't disconnect the Emergency call.. anyway I can do it? It is still connected on the idrive. This is so annoying.. my car won't start, I can't hang up the emergency call.
Oh and one more thing.. my keys will not unlock or lock the car. When I try to lock it with one key it unlocks right away, the other one (The one I last used will not work at all. The dealership said something about ignition disabled? Some safety feature..

Any input?

Like any computer. When it locks up reboot. Try disconnecting the battery. Let is sit for ~1min. Then reconnect the battery. The system should reintialize. I don't know if it will work but that is what I would try.

Good Luck,

Bill

My quick guess is a problem with the CAS module.

Here's everything you need to know about the CAS module:

Rudy, please realize that this is coming from someone who thinks a crows foot wrench is something a veterenarian uses, but you really are brilliant :)

Believe it or not, I don't think I know what a "crows foot wrench" is either... ;)
