I had all four tires replaced two months ago, and recently I feel my car shakes a bit at around 75mph. Do you guy have any idea? Is it because of out of balance tires or alignment?

Thanks

I'd go back to the dealer who fitted the tyres and ask them to check the balance on all 4 wheels again. I've had a similar experience in the past and I think it's because the new tyres have scrubbed in and those little excess bits of rubber from the moulding process have disappeared.

If the tyre dealer checks them and the shaking is still there, then you have a different problem which will probably need the BMW dealer to look at.

(Whenever I have had new tyres fitted, they have always told me to check the wheelnuts aagain after a couple of hundred miles - never found one loose yet, but you never know)

If the vibration is felt through the steering it is usually front wheel balance, if it is felt through the chassis it is often the rears.

Funnily enough I have the exact same problem having had new tyres fitted 500 miles ago, I'm off to get a good balancer to check it out at the end of the week.

I had this problem above 65 MPH when I got my new wheels/PS2's. After not being able to solve the problem with much balancing, checking for roundness, etc., my dealer replaced all tires under their warranty. Now, the problem is mostly gone. The problem was not felt in the steering wheel so it was not alignment. It was felt in the passenger seat especially. The shop foreman suspected a rear tire was the problem. I do think that we are likely to have more issues of this type when switching to lower profile tires when increasing wheel size. Perhaps the tires have to be absolutely perfect to completely avoid such problems.

Sounds like wheel balancing issues. Sometimes if a wheel requires too much weight on one side to balance the wheel will start to shake at freeway speeds. The tire dealer can rotate the tire 180 degrees to see if that takes care of the lopsidedness so that it requires less weight. More sophisticated balancers will automatically tell the technician this is the case before adding the weight.

If the balance is o.k., have them check the tires for out-of-round.

I bet it's a balance issue. I had the same problem in my Cayenne once and after the wheel was balanced properly by the dealer the shaking disappeared

I"d have to go with the rest of the guys, it sounds like a balance problem. Its really not unique, if the tires are not balanced properly, this is one of the side effects. Good luck
