MY car dealer said MP3's don't work in 2006's???

I just called to check on the status of my 550 (due in the end of the week 
) and I have read some info. on this forum saying MP3's should work if your car was manufactured after march 2005. So I asked my sales rep. to verify and he said 2006 do not and they are working on it now for 2007 to be able to play them. Does anyone have a 2006 that plays MP3's?

Stream and all, here is a newer version (1/06). I did not do a compare but it doesn't change the 5er as far as I can remember.

it actually changes the 5er if you have CCC (navigation) ... the previous version had the CCC listed as MP3 compatible as of 09/05 build, however the updated one has it listed as of 03/05 (referring to a service bulletin) ...

I was under the impression that the dealer could install the MP3 or ipod holder but that it was extra...awaiting my car this week...
