Default My car is an '07. What happens if I press the SOS button?

Theoretical question, since my car is certainly not connected to the BMW roadside assistance program.

What would happen if I pressed the SOS button?

Often, your local dealer is notified and you start getting phone calls with offers to bring the car in for service.

Not that I'll ever need to do it, but how is it disableable?
I'm actually surprised that they'd still answer it after all these years. I'd assume OnStar-equipped vehicles may be the same.

OnStar is still a viable system for General Motors vehicles.

I know, I meant older OnStar equipped vehicles without a subscription.

OnStar will definitely answer and send a bill in the mail no matter how old the car is.

These systems are built to have info at your fingertips or to respond to an emergency. They will answer and ask if you want a service to continue. If it is an emergency they will respond and send a bill in the mail.

@bronson75 you disable it by coding it out.
