Well, my 550 finally got "baptized" despite how cautious I was to drive away from the approaching rain clouds last night. I was a little nervous because I've driven nothing but front-drivers for the longest time. I was hoping that the 550i would handle solidly. Suffice it to say, the 550i was ROCK SOLID and inspired MAJOR confidence in the rain driving in town and down a rain-soaked freeway. Perfect straight-line traction with no hydroplaning from the Bridgestone Potenza RFTs. Props to whoever invented rain-sensing wipers ... it's as if the car could tell how I'd operate the wipers had it been on manual control. Despite the torque that the V8 puts out, DSC/DTC did its job in keeping the car from going astray even when my right foot got a bit unruly. BMW has made me a believer.

Now it's time for my 550's inaugural car wash!

That's the good and bad news. Treat her gently when washing.
