To continue that thought, if you want a Mercedes that feels more like a BMW you'll have to shell out a base price of $70,000-$170,000 for models like the SL55, CL500/600, CL55/65, and C55 AMG. And even those may even have some of the same problems with focus on overall speed, Mercedes definition of "performance", rather than handling, safety, and driving experience. I'm really interested to see how popular the C55 AMG Sport Sedan is going to be. It looks like a promising car and is in the same price range as the BMW 545i. It looks like it is faster, but will it pull as many Gs on the skidpad, will it come equip with some of the biggest breaks you've ever seen on a car (disc brakes are huge on 545i if anyone hasnt already noticed :b), and most importantly, will it be as fun to drive and have that really tight/sleek/you are in complete control of the car feeling? We shall see, I'm gonna go test drive one as soon as I have the time =)

Awsome kills! That SMG sounds like a blast - maybe I will like the new M5 SMG...

I'm not suprised on the Carrera 4S - the Carrera runs 13.4 @105, and the 545 will do 13.7 @104, and the 4S is heavier.

I'm really suprised on the E55 AMG - it should have absolutely demolished you. These automatic beasts run low 12's at 116 or so. He had a manual? He must have been pretty slow at shifting, but hey, you had the better shifts!

I was really suprised I pulled on a convertible M3 last week. It was SMG vs my 6sp and I kept 1/2 a car length from 60 - 130 or so. Fun stuff - but I may need a good lawyer soon.

You need to scan your slip and post it, otherwise people won't believe you. That trapspeed is 3mph more than R&T got with their 545 auto.

Me, too. In 2007 when my lease is up, I'll be getting SMG for sure.

My wife wanted me to get the 6 spd manual, she can drive a stick, but I went against her and got the SMG. I absolutely love it.

To continue...wonder what will be like racing the M5 vs. E55?

Now i am thinking in getting a 545I with SMG one year from now after my 525 (lazy blue) gets her second birthday.
