So driving around town a few months ago, I forgot that the intersection I was approaching was built horribly (to shed water, I think). So if you pass this intersection at 20 MPH no problem. However, I was unfortunately reminded that normal posted speeds are not recommended. This was driven home literally by an unpleasant sound of what must have been my suspension being slammed to its end...
Well after a quick stop and determining the engine was still firmly mounted, and all wheels in place and spinning... I drove on.
Everything seemed fine till I reached about 55-60 MPH. It felt as if the wheels needed balancing. Closer inspection revealed at least one of the rims BENT!
Since the repair and/or powder coating was all the same price, I decided to go with the matte black powder coat. Now they are all round and all black.
I know they're not for everyone, but I hope you enjoy these quick snaps:

Thanks guys! I was hesitant initially, but think that the decision turned out good. Especially the matte, I think glossy might have been a little gaudy.
Enjoy the weekend...

If I were to have taken the rims in off the vehicle the charge would have been $139 each through the guy (who provides the service to the BMW dealer). Not having a spare set, I took the car in to the dealer and they charged $165/each. They had the car approximately 24 hours. Apparently they misquoted me @ $165 but honored that price, normally they said its $185. I'm sure the rims I received were not my originals, as they were sent out to a company in Dallas for refinishing, who overnight-ed the replacements (my guess is from existing stock).
Including the charges for a 4-wheel alignment (which I thought prudent in this case), tax, etc. It was just over $800 total.

My Ride: 2005 545i 6-spd
Model Year: 2005
those look nice
I have bent/cracked all four of my 124s front and back multiple times here in Houston, i pulled the run-flats and it just happened again, so i'm pulling these and going with the 17x7.5 138s and 50sidewall height tire.
wondering if you guys have bent/cracked many 124s?
