My Ride: 2005 525i: Premium Pkg, Cold Weather Pkg, Nav, Aux Input, Full Window Tinted

Thank you all for reading. This morning I went to my car and tried to start it and it didn't start. I waited 5 minutes and after numerous attempts it started. The car started but it seem to take longer for the car to turn over. One important note when the car didn't start the engine didn't even turn over. All the electronics and lights came on but nothing when attempted to start.

Now flash to this evening I went to my car and now the car does not start again in the same manner as this morning. Tried to change the battery and nothing. I have no idea what is wrong. I was thinking that maybe the crank position sensor might have failed but not sure how to test if that is even possible.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanking you guys in advance.

Rob

if you change ur battery, ur car needs to be programmed. I would check the alternator.

I would check you SES light and go on from there. These cars will tell you if a sensor is bad. I was thinking alternator too since your lights flicker off.

Thanks for your replies and help. I went to my BMW trusted mechanic and xbmw818x you were correct. I did reprogram the battery since I have Bavarian Technics scan program for my car and it did not fix the problem. I learned a lot more from this experience and thanks guys for making me smarter about my beloved e60.
