Sorry to revive this, but just a few more questions. CCC is still dead. When I hooked a charger up to my battery, it was drawing way more than I would have anticipated. Also, when I replaced my pads and rotors a few months ago, I got the low battery warning while I was working on resetting the brake pad wear sensor. My best recollection is that the battery was replaced about 3-4 years ago (under warranty) when it failed to start the vehicle after shutting it off to fill up with gas. After a jump and a drive to the dealer, I left with a new battery.
Given the other threads I have read about the IBS and battery issues, is it a good idea to replace the battery/IBS/negative cable at this point? I don't think it's the root of my CCC issue (although that would be awesome) but it seems like even if it isn't bad, that it might be good preventative maintenance. I still have not had the opportunity to swap out the MPM either, so my issue is still only narrowed down to the battery/IBS, MPM, or the CCC which is the most likely.
As I may have mentioned earlier, I am between jobs and have been having "fun" fixing my beloved e60, because bringing it to the dealer is out of the question right now. I have a line on a replacement CCC, but now I'm sort of thinking that the CIC retrofit might be the way to go
I remember I had same issue. My MPM had already been moved to a new home. It was battery. Battery seemed fine but now quite. I replaced with new H8 and made sure I cranked tightened it correctly and everything has been fine for 2 years now. I have an 04 530 and i took the IBS out of the equation so I'll contstantly have an error on my BMW tools but doesn't affect anything when doing updates/flashes/coding/programming etc.
when i have time I may just edit the VO to take out the IBS option if there is one and encode the car maybe the error will go for good.

I had the same issue on my 04-545..... ended up purchasing a new CCC..... but before I installed it the shop realized that it was a sensor in the trunk I believe the # was 56 or 57....... Once the $4 fuse was put in ..... the idrive booted right up.

I have the same issue . I relocated the mpm(seems like no water damage) my cc doesnt boot anymore, it used to just on bmw logo and reboot continuously, not it went blank to white or doesnt turn on after i changed some fuses , also the sos indicator finally came on , but the car runs fine just i want my
music wtf someone help ill shoot 5$ if it works
. Also i chamged to a new doe hard battery
Do you know if it matters that i didnt have a cd changer? It has the red/brown plug but nothing else to it . Its just the shell no lights. Also if u can tell me if my fuses are correct or if something shouldnt be. Appreciate the response 🙏
Got it. My bad for coming off a tad bit stupid. Im trying to learn what i can. I thought i was in the optic fiber loop but i do understand its an option i just wanted to be sure because i believe it had the fuse in but again im probably wrong.
i believe by tomorrow i will get a new unit and see how it goes thank you once again
No you're not coming off like that. I wouldn't worry about anything but getting your CCC up and running at this point. They are common failures and most get them repaired. After you fix it then you can troubleshoot the rest of the issues if there are any.
If you don't know these units are not plug and play. It will need to be coded and programmed also FSCs will be needed if you have Navi. This is why most people get there CCC fixed instead of replacing them.
