just put new exhaust manifold, swirl flap blanks, new thermostat(s) and a few other things. whilst going through the procedure to check coolant temp, I discovered that one one of the 'screens' (thing it was screen number 09) it showed MGP US.....whilst on IDrive its definitely set to units MPG UK.
which is correct ?
PS the exhaust manifold cracking problem....Do not replace with standard crappy monkey metal e60 version....find a replacement one from earlier models that had cast iron manifold. the fit perfectly without any problems (well none so far).
When fitting thermostat, be very cafeful when tightening things back up (especially if the stat is not from main dealer)....they crach easily. If you buy from maindealer, keep the receipts as if they fail to operate in the correct temperature range within 2 years you will be covered by the parts and labour warranty (so I have been told). From reading various forums, they go often so worth maindealer purchase with a two year warranty.
