Ok so i reset the MPG today under the Car Data section... As i drove i kept the RPM's below 2 and below around town...the heater was on low (the lowest possible) and i was getting an MPG of 14.4....Does anyone know what the deal with that is...I was below 2 RPM's the whole 15 minute drive and I got 14.4 ?!?

Try restarting your mileage calculator and just driving normally while watching your instantaneous mileage indicator. Try to drive so that you keep the instantaneous indicator well above the mpg figure you are trying to, or think you should, acheive as much as you can, but especially once you get more or less up to speed. And, it still might help us if you explained exactly how you came up with the 14.4 value--i.e., specifically what procedures you folllowed.

Below 2K? you might have been in too high of a gear and lugging the engine more than it should thus burning more gas just to struggle to keep the car going. *just a thought*
As EBMCS03 indicated, it's not the RPMs alone that govern favorable fuel mileage as much as the gear you are in and the position of your foot on the accelerator. Acceleration, coasting, grade, speed, wind direction, tire inflation and other factors enter into the equation.
Try cruising on a level road at about a constant 40-45 MPH in top gear with the foot on the accelerator as if there were an egg under the accelerator pedal that you are trying not to break. Then punch the reset button to reset the gas mileage computation. You should immediately see a number that would make most of us smile. Don't get too happy, though, because it will average down as you continue driving.
You might also pay particular attention to the instant gas mileage needle and see how it reacts under different driving conditions. The more time the needle spends on the left, the better the average. (Sorry, Rudy.)

Ouch! I was concerned that my 545 would be in that range. So far I average just at 30 on the highway and just under 20 with a mix of highway and city driving. Only had the car 4 weeks, but so far it's been great.

and that would mean around 2,500 - 3,500 rpm.
I was yesterday driving around southern Finland (about 300 km or 187 miles) delivering some Christmas presents to my customers.
The roads where exremely slippry, tempatarures around -10 C (14 F) so I was driving easy and not faster than 110 km/h (70 mph) and the iDrive showed a avarage consuption on 7,5-7,8 l / 100 km/h (30-32 MPG).
The rpm was most of the time a bit over 2.000 rpm.
Usually the car gives about 20 MPG in the winter time and city/suburban driving.

In the subject situation, everyone is correct: around-town driving is not a proper measurement. I'd suggest setting it to zero 8 am or whenever, and driving for a routine day or two, and then checking it at 8 am two days later. That will give an avg daily mileage. Then you can check trips or just around town to see how it's weighted.
Oh, and "heater" operation doesn't matter; air conditioning (compressor load) will.
Keep us posted,
