The volume when playing MP3 is very low, regardless of what I am playing. CD audio and Radio are ok. How can I boost up volume for recorded MP3s to be the same as CD Audio?

Thanks.

I haven't noticed this. How are your files encoded?

I have encoded them using constant bit rate at 320 kbps and placed them on a DVD. Anyway, I cannot use all the space, because of the file number limit.

I used for encoding EZ CD-DA Extractor 8.2. No normalization.

I use an iPod through the aux input. I ripped using Exact Audio Copy with LAME encoder @256kbps VBR, and normalize with MP3Gain at 94dB, and the volume is only very slightly lower than the other audio inputs.

Here's links:

@UUronL, Fenix1: are we talking about MP3 from in-dash DVD, right?
What have you used for encoding? Have you normalized when ripping?

At least you're using a good tool - I presume you're using the LAME engine? I'd switch to VBR Preset Standard.

I use a Samsung YP-T7 1 GB unit. Most of my tracks are at 112 Kbps. I need to turn the volume all the way up in order for it to work well in my E60. I just need to remember to turn the volume down when I run it in my office or with the headphones.
