Hi Guys,

I yesterday ordered an E60 with Logic7 and a BMW professional radio system.

Now i'm wondering if it will play MP3...

The dealer here doesn't know anything, he told me that on an E60 nobody asked for a MP3 option yet :'(

And I ordered @ BMW Netherlands in Amsterdam, the #1 dealer in the country

Can someone tell me if I will be able to play MP3 ?

It depends when you actually get your car and what software version it is running. V17.1 due later this month should be able to play mp3's if you have professional radio.

I'll confront the dealer with it.
Delivery is planned around end of august/begin September.

But is it possible to upgrade the software afterwards, for example if I will get
version 16.3 orso ?

And what are the extra's of the proffesional in comparison with the 'standard' radio and the professional radio ?

I'm paying ?566 extra but I don't know exactly for what and can't find the technical
anywhere...

 

Yes of course the software can always be upgraded. The difference between pro and standard is the hardware. Example pro can read data disc with mp3 - standard can't. I'm sure there's more to it than that ....maybe somebody else can chime in.

 

The radio is able to play MP3 files.
BMW's are allways getting the latest/newest software when they leave the plant.
If you can play MP3's upon delivery? Well, it depends...:

Cars with nav pro need the new software that will be released in September. If you get your car after the software release, it will play MP3's from the beginning. If not, you will need a software update, as soon as the new software will be available.
If you have nav business or no nav at all, your car will be ready for MP3's.
